Senior C++ Developer/Support (full-time)
£60,000 - £65,000 per annum plus package
This is an immediate requirement for a Senior C++ Developer with excellent experience in dealing with front office users and senior stakeholders.
Solid knowledge of UNIX and SQL (in particular Sybase TSQL.)
Excellent knowledge of the various asset classes
Good knowledge of Risk (Credit and Market)
First class educational background from UK red brick university
Flexibility to travel
Development & Support of Risk Credit and Market Data Reporting System.
In particular, the C++ pricing component of the system requires a very experienced Developer (5 years + with template knowledge) with comfort in dealing with pricing models.
The role encompasses development, code changes, day-to-day handling of BAU issues on the system, testing and UAT of new releases. Also working with BA’s in facilitating the handover process of this support , which involves documenting parts of the system and support routines necessary to do so.
The product prices a large category of trades and takes in large amounts of market data, aggregating them according to various book groups, currencies and summary reports.
This requires knowledge of a large number of financial instruments (Bonds, Equities, CDS curves, Exotics, Swaptions, etc) and financial terminologies and processes (Credit Lines, Credit Agreements’, Var aggregation).
Developing and Supporting gives exposure to a large number of technologies, C++, Java (Spring, Hibernate), Perl, JSP, etc.
The ability/experience working in a fire fighting/support type environment.
Have a sense of urgency with regards to Production issues and trouble shooting.
Ability to work under pressure.
Technical skill but not a mindset of perfection i.e. the solution often needs to be quick and dirty you won't have two/three weeks to analysis/spec/dev/implement.
Flexible with regards to working hours and oncall
In addition to the C++ or Java familiarity with Unix/SQL
Basis financials though the stronger the better. Risk/Positions/PV/DV01 etc
If you have used Murex before it will help as it is the main upstream trade system.
You must have academic excellence with either a 2.1 or 1st from a redbrick university.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
